Mouth Care Without a Battle is an evidence-based approach to person-centered daily mouth care for persons with cognitive and physical impairment. It combines best practices in oral hygiene with proven techniques to address behavioral challenges to care.
The two-DVD set contains four modules and provides continuing education credits:
Module 1 is for nurses and nursing assistants and contains one hour of training on basic mouth care.
Module 2 is for nurses and nursing assistants and contains one hour of training on managing behavioral challenges during mouth care.
Module 3 is for nurses and provides information about regulatory and supervisory issues related to mouth care.
Module 4 is a short overview for administrators and other advocates for quality care.
