Leadership in Nursing

Purpose

To provide nurse leaders with the knowledge and tools to think creatively and assume an active role in leading their organizations through the major change of implementing a new model of long term care, the Household Model.

"Nursing" and "home" - a familiar pairing. But how do we reconcile one with the other to offer quality of care and quality of life? What is the role of the nurse leader in culture change? Will the work ever get done? To help nurses find answers and solutions, Action Pact is offering Nurse Leader training.

Presenters

The session will be led by Gloria Blackmon, BSN, RN-BC, DNS-CT, who has many years of experience in guiding the transformation of organizations into the Household Model. Facilitated by Megan Hannan, MS.

Throughout the three days, the leaders will address staffing, self-led teams, cross training, person-centered care, regulations, new skills and competencies for nurses in culture change homes. The training is designed for the nurse executive and nurse leaders in household, neighborhood and small house organizations. This can also be of great benefit to an executive team as they think through physical renovation and clinical care. The outcome; good care and a good daily life.
